Gone as in no friction material or gone as in worn to rivets?
When a clutch disc has thrown material it is usually a sign of roughly using the trans to slow the car / down shifting at too high a speed ( a unclamped disc reaches very high speed ) / rough up shifts.
What happens is the torque reversal works the friction material under the rivets causing it to loosen and fall apart.
