I think that's a little paranoid. A single oil change that's gone a bit over the desired change interval won't do squat to the health of the engine. It's when you go well past the recommended change interval as a habit that appreciable damage and wear occurs, especially if all you do is short trips and stop/go traffic. Highway miles are WAY easier on an engine than city traffic.
