My MB coolant has been yellowish ("straw" colored) but it has been awhile. I agree the cost sounds exorbitant, esp. given that this is not a complicated DIY. I would consider going with a non-Behr unit to save a few hundred also, unless you are going to run this as an original classic show car.

It is unusual to get a leak there - usu. on the side tanks or in the front.
