A few months ago I stumbled upon a Smoke Silver 87 300D with a Maroon interior on Facebook marketplace listed for $1200 with front end damage. Bambi jumped out and bent the rad support and pushed the wheel house about 3 inches from the tire inward
I lost the guys contact info and somehow found it again about two weeks ago. I decided to ring him up and see if he sold it. to my surprise and not so surprise it wasn't sold. Too many tire kickers. I took a chance on driving up to connecticut and saw the car.
It's about a 8/10 cosmetically if you take away the front end damage. The interior is 10/10 and the car doesn't have a spec of rust being a Florida car all it's life until very recently while still being garage kept. It has 95k miles on it. The frame rail itself is okay on the unibody.
I got a 95 e300 Shell that has no driveline I'll cut the wheel house out of and radiator support and hopefully straighten the old hood and replace the grill and bumper and I think I found myself a keeper.
I pick it up Wednesday courtesy of a AAA premier membership with a free 200 mile tow.
I plan to do update it with the surgery it's about to undergo with my welder!
