The cowl vents are the black plastic or plastic chromed units just in front of the windshield and just behind the hood.. This is where the fresh air gets into the cab. One of mine took a hit the other day with the severe thunderstorms we had. We had golfball size hail here at the house.
Mine are black plastic. I took them off a 80 240D that I had. If I recall correctly they are normally chrome on the wagon. As long as the "chrome" is ok or black is ok I would be interested.
To remove the units look closely at the unit. You will see small squares on the top of the units. You remove the center spreader that is in the center of the square. And then the square should come out. Then the unit will come out.

PS the headlight doors are just the clear plastic that is around the headlight bulbs. Not the entire headlight assembly
