Well, it looks like the 300SD will be our mode of transport to California in early May and then down to Texas the first week of June to visit some relatives. I was hoping the 6.9 would be ready but even if I do get the transmission back in order, I'd be leary of driving the car on such long trips after it has been sitting laid up for three years. Oh well, at least it didn't rust while it was sitting! I took extra measures to make sure the car was literally sealed off from any moisture and elements. Gotta watch those W116s like a hawk!
