I see four corner chains. I would want chain as the primary cage suspension as well. No way would I want to be in the water near that monster. The cage itself looks a little more rugged than some I have seen at least.
If it mouths the cage. It could mouth a suspension rope. Just imagine if the cage was sinking in deep water as a result and you had to leave it. Or even in shallower water and it hung around until you had to leave it.
That specis is pretty huge in girth. I do not think the length truly reflects the overall mass.
I do wonder how many years it takes them to reach a size like that. I am not going to research it. Research has shown they have a very extensive cruising range. Plus do not need temperate waters. Some voyage up past the east coast of Canada I believe.
