Has anyone had experience fitting a Magnaflow 23833 catalytic converter in a W124 with a M103 engine?

It is suppose to be a direct fit into a 260E but they have larger diameter pre-converters and the one for cylinders 1-3 is mounted lower and the pipe is a different shape so it interferes with the steering idle arm mount. I cannot get it in.

Also it comes in 2 pieces, which is fine except they have the "Y" joining the 2 front pipes at the spot where the exhaust support mounts to the rear of the transmission. I don't expect to spend that much and then have to cobble it up.

So now the car is off the road cause I cut the old system off unless I get the welder out.
