I've done it MANY times . . .

Have the crank ground and have them send it out for hardening and MICRO-POLISHED . . .

If the crank is REALLY BEAT . . . it can be HARD-CHROMED, RE-GROUND and MICRO-POLISHED back to standard and HARD AS HELL ! ! !
