I am moving into a new house (with garage!!!) so I can finally get around to doing some minor repairs off the street.

The clanking check strap reciever was #1 on my list (the epoxy I halfheartedly tried several months ago only worked for about a week.)

I will give this a try, it sounds like a high probability fix.
