Define Synthetic. I'm guessing calling the wax " synthetic " plays to the " synthetic is better because it is tech crowd. "
Somewhere I read that modern paint just needs gentle washing and occasional buffing to keep in good condition. Keeping it clean is the key to prevent oxidation damage. Unless the wax has a UV blocker, the paint will still fade as much as no wax.
Modern paint from the 70's and up could be considered " Synthetic " as Acrylic Enamel and Acrylic Lacquer were invented to take the place of the not so durable Alkyd Enamel and Nitrocellulose Lacquer.
In the 80's, 2 stage clear coat / top coat started to become more main stream with a Urethane base , this could be considered more synthetic. ( or sometimes as a single stage system. )
I've been seeing standard DOT 3 brake fluid being labeled as synthetic and I doubt the formula is any different that what we have been using for the past 30 years.
