Silica is one of the most complex and most abundant families of materials, existing as a compound of several minerals and as synthetic product.

In what form would Silicon Dioxide/SiO2 be employed in the preparation of a paint sealer?

There are a few forms, varying by particle size, content, etc. It’s the use of SiO2 nano particles suspended in a clear resin that when applied, hardens and cross links into a virtually impermeable surface that is chemically bonded to your vehicle. Some cure by cross linking, some by solvent drying, some by electrostatic means when rinsed off.

The best of these coating s must have proper paint protection upfront, as they are considered “semi-permanent” in that it will always be there until it is abraded off the surface.

They offer significant water repellency/beading, chemical and uv resistance, etc.
