Secondly. HEY, this is your THROTTLE linkage. I don't think you want a shakey fix here.

My 1982 300D had to have this part also. The replacement part has been redesigned to use modern materials in a configuration that is much stronger and will not decay like the original. This was one part I HAD to have badly enough to go straight to the dealer. Their price was something on the order of $45.

The part is also available from Performance Products, cheaper, and probably here from FastLane. I can do some research and get you the part name later this weekend if no one else finds it.
