Om602.962 electronics, to delete or not to delete? That is the question.

Howdy everyone!
I recently purchased a good condition om602.962 engine from a 93 190d from ROLLGUY (thanks rich!) that im planning on dropping into my t1 van. I have been swiftly moving down the path of removing all non vital things on this engine such as egr and vaccuum actuated wastegate as many members have done before with these (the documentation on this site is radical!).
It seems that many people have been able to remove the entire ecu and related relays as you are able to bump up the base rpm to compemsate for removing the electronic idle. What i am wondering is if anyone has removed their electronic idle relay and ecu but continued to use their ac? From what i have researched on here it seems that the electronic idle control is there to compensate for the rpm drop when using the ac system. Is it a big issue in regards to your engines stock performance if you remove electronic idle control?
Or is it fine to delete the electronics and bump up the rpm base idle and continue to utilize the ac system and drive the engine without electronics? Thanks for any input!
