Out of curiosity, how'd you wire the power connector up? I decided to go the same route, ended up wiring bare wires to the little stubs that normally go into the pcb, didn't know if there was a better way. I'm a little bit concerned about those solder joints, but I figure I'll try to treat it gently and see how it goes.
