Where is the sensor that tells the CCU that engine is at temp and to start heating the cabin? I'm talking about heat not cool - although I tend to run much of the time in the non-EC mode (AC).


When the car is first started after being parked overnight it is my understanding that the blower fan should not begin running until the engine is warmed to a certain temp. My '95 behaves most of the time like this, however, my '88 often starts from the git-go blowing air through the center dash vents. So this seems to me like there's a sensor malfunctioning somewhere. Yes? No? Maybe?


So, as normal operation, I do not bother the temp wheel and go ahead to my destination - a mile or two away, turn off the car and leave for a few minutes, when I return and start up again, at this point is when the blower will then 'treat' me to nice warm air! It makes complete sense to me that it would do this as the engine has had a bit of time to warm up on the initial trip, then when turned off, temp rises slightly after shut-down and when restarted the coolant temp is warmer than when it was shut-down.



I hope I am being clear enough in my description but will try to answer follow-up questions. Thanks for any attempts to educate me on this
