OM617 balancing

I'm almost to the reassembly portion of my OM617 rebuild and about to start balancing my pistons. 4 of them are from the 1985 block and have thinner piston skirts, and one is from an earlier engine and has a thicker skirt.

The weight difference between the old style and new style is ~20 grams. What is an acceptable weight difference on pistons in these engines?

Didn't realize I had different pistons until I started cleaning them up. I don't want to have excessive vibration or wear, hopefully I can get enough weight shaved off of the heavier piston without compromising it's structural integrity.

Thanks
Max
