Oops, forgot to mention, I replaced it myself. Not a bad job really, quite straightforward. I believe the dealer's book said 1.7 hours. I marked all the parts so as not to upset the balance of the driveshaft.

Still with the problems we've had with the vehicle (fewer than many who post here, but more than we expected for a Mercedes), my wife will probably never again agree to purchase any car of its first model year!
