After 9-11 years, quite a bit of gunk can collect both inside the radiator and in the exterior cooling latticework. I know the outside of mine was loaded with crap when I pulled it. So, I believe a new radator will get you back to nearly 100% of your original cooling capacity. I did it primarily as preventative maintenance, and 'cuz the deal was right
