For what it's worth, replacing the thermostat, flushing the system/refilling with g05 and fixing the odd electrical tick on the gauge were tremendously helpful, but it wasn't until I removed the radiator and sprayed it thoroughly with simple green and a garden hose did I achieve consistent running temps (80-82). It *looked* clean. It wasn't.
