Following that, a surgical team was assembled to create three incisions and use a bronchoscope to systematically clean out the entire lung and ensure that the most affected part would not collapse.
I have a high threshhold of pain, but one day after the anesthesia wore off in recovery, I woke up and heard this guy screaming.
I didn't realize it was me. The nurse did and knocked me out for 6 hours after putting a special type of catheter on which I will not discuss.
I was held in bed in a certain position. After another two days and multiple x-rays and blood draws, I was attached to a "gurgler" which draws out additional infection.
One by one the tubes and lines were removed. But the real moment of release came when the catheter was removed.
More to come.
