I wasn't sure how the Isuzu products stood up on the reliability scale, but had never heard anything bad about them.

The girlfriend and I both have something against the car like SUV's (i.e. CRV and RAV4). Our view is that if your going to get an SUV, get an SUV and not the SUV car hybrid type things. They seem like they're sort of Half A$$ed, althought the gas mileage factor is true. I think we both would probably go the Outback route before those. Her dream car is the Defender 90 so she's definitely looking for something that has "beefy" appeal, but reliability and price are an issue with that one.

The timing belt is on our checklist once we find one we're interested in.
