My experience to date has been great. I put a Greasel kit in a VW Golf diesel as my "test car", then upgraded to the '84 300D turbo with a similar kit that I made myself. Once you get the oil collection/filtering routine down, there's no hassle to this at all.
I drove 1600 miles last week, about half of that on WVO (filled my WVO tank and took some additional 5 gallon containers for the first part of the commute. I get the containers from the restaurant dumpsters - that's what they get their new oil in - just throw them in the trash when I'm traveling.
The engine is a little quieter on veg oil and has almost as much power as it does with diesel. I can shut it off for an hour or two without switching back to diesel first since the engine stays hot that long.
Best bit for me is the reduction of pollution and reliance on imported oil. Should be a piece of cake someplace consistently warm like Florida!
