I just changed the oil in my 84 300D and I had to put in 2 gallons plus an extra quart. Funny thing is that I changed the oil in my 85 300SD last week and I had to put in 2 galllons and then had to extract a half of a quart! These are the same engines and there is no leaks. I extract the oil using the same hydralic pump system and I use one gallon units of Delvac 1300. What gives? Was one of my sealed gallon Delvacs underfilled? Do the European models have the same oil capacity? I can't explain.
