Everything I've read suggests OEM belt is 980mm long. However the belt I removed is 925. Having fitted the OEM 980 belt I can't tension it even with the slide adjuster maxed out, its still too slack. Obviously I can simply buy a shorter belt but I'm curious why every reference point says it should be 980.

Car is a 1979 280CE
