A little hard to follow the last post. I guess it is a matter of taste.

Some years back when transiting down the east coast of America in the truck. A lot of places had switched over to buffet. Perhaps because of labor costs. Food was usually eatable but that was about it.

I remember a friend with me on one trip overfilled their plate. I told him he may as well at least take some out to the dog in the truck. The owners here will not object. So he did.

A Chinese buffet place in town got seriously fined. They were caught re introducing some peoples leftovers back into use.

Another Chinese very large one that was not bad and seemed usually busy. In a small city nearby closed it's doors. Again it always seemed busy either when we were there or I just drove by.

Over the years I have never really liked fast food places. Yet when travelling I on occasion consider then the safest places to eat when passing through smaller towns. I know I will not really enjoy it. At the same time I know to what extent I will feel that way.

On occasion I will just ask a local. If there is a place with decent food there.

Actually the wife is such a good cook. I prefer her cooking over almost anything commercial.

We have a very large modern truck stop near the local town. Locals as well as ourselves use it periodically. The food is decent and of adequate Quantity. I hear the waitresses also do really well on tips. I believe this is a policy to lure the heavy truckers in. If so it appears to work. There is almost always a line waiting for tables and this place is a good size.
