Well you are correct about getting the door panel off! I giggled with it for seems like two hours trying carefully to remove so as to not break it but it finally came off. It's the solid, decisive sudden 'pull' upwards on it from the bottom edge. Someone had obviously tried removing it before my ownership as a couple of the clips had come unglued from the panel. So, it's ready to fix. I've just got to decide if I want to try a cheap one from eBay - like under $40!
