On the same topic, what REALLY burns me up are these massive Springtime speed busts. It seems that during the first few really nice days of Spring, especially Fridays, the police are out in droves wiht speed traps. They (correctly) assume that since the weather is so beautiful and we Canadians are coming out of hibernation from a freeezing winter of salt and slush, that we might be enjoying the fine weather and cruising a wee bit faster than normal. Which of course people do and they pull them over by the thousands.
This really gets me. Now, I'm not condoning racing or unsafe driving. I'm talking about going anywhere from 120-130 Km/h on our highways which are marked 100 Km/h. With good conditions and a nice car you can cruise all day long at 130 Km/h safely. In fact, during the summer, that is a normal speed for traffic. But in the Spring, they always nail you for going 120ish on those big bust days. They'll have about 4-6 cruisers and 6-8 cops in any one speed trap. Several lasers. It's nuts.
Why don't they just raise license fees????
Thanks for the venting rant....
