Restoring M130.923 engine and am thinking about having the alum valve cover chrome plated. Just not happy with Mother's aluminum polish results or the long term polishing required over time just to keep it looking sharp.

I am waiting on an estimate from a custom plating shop that does aluminum chrome work.

Has anyone done this? Were you happy with the results?

Picture attached. The original surface defects are sweet... going to leave them as they are (for the original vintage look.. 1971)
