That said, we live in blessed times, don't we. Our ancestors never got that second chance after cardiac arrest.. dying young and from many different ailments, and rather sudden. Yet, we are no more blessed in a spiritual way than they were. We are blessed materially, by our own collective intellect.
I would bet none felt bad outrunning the slower poor soul that was eaten by a predator.
We are human at our very core, inescapably human. We do human things that manmade ideologies frown up, in rather cruel judgmental ways.
Take no shame in being human, in acting human, in being what our genetics designed us to be. And when that day comes... smile... laugh... be thankful to have experienced the life of a man... because living the life of another creature just isn't quite the same.

On that note let us all resolve to cherish the days we have left. I like reading the bible, one scripture that always puzzled me, this one:
Matt 12:
31 Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men.
32 And whosoever speaketh a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the world to come.
Years after first reading that I met an old fart who was sort of a theologian. I asked what he meant by the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost.
He said: 'Despair.'
He went on, saying when you are in despair you are denying the possiblity of God's grace, you are whining about the indignity of being forced to be alive. I recently did some web searching and found numerous sites that agreed with him!
This is a big one for me to keep in mind as I lapse into a wee bit of despair now and then.
Away, ye devils!
