I had almost the same problem on my '80 300SD except it was both rear tires wearing on the inside.

I took it to an Independent alignment shop to have the rear wheels aligned. They said there was no adjustment on the rear wheels.

So they aligned the front wheels and the rear wheels stopped wearing on the inside. Last time I took it to a MB dealer for alignment, they charged me for a 4-wheel alignment. I wonder if saying it is a 4-wheel alignment is just so thay can charge more?
