My Fathers girl friend grew up in a depression era Farm (until they lost it) and she said that they had a bunch of Cats to deal with the Rodents and save as much Gain as they could. She said they seldom fed them anything.

In the first pic my Cat is apparently not satisfied with my Work.

The other picture is of one of my Cats eating a Gopher. That is the first time in my life I had ever seen a Cat actually eating a Rodent. Usually you simply find some piece of the Rodent left over but don't know what ate the rest of it.

Those stray Cats that people don't are actually responsible for some Rodent control even if it is not obvious to us.

I have seen my Cats with a Paw all the way up to their shoulder inside of a Gopher hole but they none have ever gotten bit.
