I managed to get it off with some 6" needle-nose vice-grips & a smallish common screwdriver. There is a 'ridge' on one side(?) 'top or bottom' & two little tips on other side.
Pulled & rotate, screwdriver to push 'retainer?' behind ridge & tips.
Confusing yet??
