I get off the freeway an hour ago and there's a kid, maybe 20 Y.O., clean and healthy, reading a book with a carefully lettered sign 'homeless, trying to get $ for dad's funeral, or anything, please help' .

Right across the street was a filling station in need of help, how easy a job do you want ? .

I nearly said something but decided he's just another wastrel who expects the world to take care of him instead of working .

Last night as we were coming home and exited the i105 freeway there was a Rastafaranian (SP) with one eye, juggling balls at the stop light ~ had I not been tapped out I'da given him some $ because t least he was trying to work for it .

I've been dead broke with no where to go, no one's fault but my own, I've never begged and hope I never will .
