Always have that Official Boy Scout Pocket knife or some other knife with you at all times it is practical to do so; even more important if you are camping.
I hate not being able to take my Pocket knife with me on flights and so on.
I have a pocket knife with me nearly all the time except when sleeping or in the shower.
Knife story: I bought a Girl I was dating who was going camping with her friends a Swiss version of the 4 bladed scout type pocket knife (spear point blade, screwdriver bottle opener, can opener and leather awl blades).
While she was camping she had a bowel movement so urgent she took the knife and cut here belt to get her pants off to prevent from going in her pants.
