Such is life. Young guys seldom take advice anyways. I remember when really young trying to find a girl in the area that was really putting out.

I have told more than one young fellow just not to get them pregnant. You will in all probability not see the kid but you will see child support in too many cases. I also told them in some cases you will be providing their intentional ticket to get on welfare.

She asked me to marry her. I questioned her and it turned out her mother had told her to go out and get married. Her family where eastern Europeans. I actually felt sorry for her. That stopped me from attempting to take advantage of the situation. Someone took her up on it as I heard she was married not long after on the grapevine.

About the same time a mother told her daughter to go get a newspaper at the store. As soon as the daughter left the mother hit on me. She got verbally ugly when I put her off. I just took off and went down the three long sets of concrete stairs to where the car was. To my surprise as I was getting into the car she was already pounding it with a broom as well as when I drove away. She had to be really fast to match a guy of my age at speed down those long flights of stairs to street level. The daughter should have warned me her mother was nuts. There was no father.

There were all kinds of episodes in the west end of Toronto in those times. It was becoming a mixing pot of all kinds of immigrants. I had a serious fight with an insane guy also about that time. He had a broken bottle and was extremely strong. All my life I have had faster reflexes than most guys. You have to have something going for you when fighting with a truly insane driven individual. A couple of other guys broke it up as we were rolling around on the ground with me doing all kinds of things to avoid the broken bottle end. While I was able to inflict enough punishment he should have weakened or backed off.

I was able to think clearly and realized I was probably going to have to drive both thumbs into his eyes. I had already done a few things that seemed to have no effect. He should have been locked up or in an institution. He started the fight over absolutely nothing and had intent.
