Happily driving along in my 06 CDI when, all of the sudden I got error messages for brakes, ABS, and ESP and I lost power steering. Pulled the codes and the culprit is a bad right rear speed sensor. That code appeared in both the SBC and ESP systems. What I'm confused by is why a failed speed sensor would affect power steering.

Thoughts?
