I went to look at this car, it has been sitting for a long time, the tires are too rotten to drive and its completely rotted out at the corners of the back window and along the top of the trunk opening. The interior is decent though, and it appears to have a rebuilt engine with a #22 head that started right up and sounds good.

1986 Mercedes Benz 300SDL for Sale:

Beautiful and rare blue color, runs very well - Engine pulls strong and shifts smoothly, brakes work fine.
This is one of the finest executive sedans ever made and was only sold in the US from 1986 and 1987, and both model years are identical. I bought the car from an 84 year old man who drove it back and forth between California and Arizona, hence the tinted windows. He told me the bulk of the miles are freeway miles.
She runs well, starts every time, and is quick and nimble for such a big car and a diesel. There is a lot of leg room and the car is extremely comfortable, befitting Mercedes top of the line model. This car is very safe, has a lot of steel and also an airbag on the driver's side. She has the rare and attractive medium blue paint and leather interior combination.

Many Mercedes diesel fans consider this to be Mercedes' finest diesel engine and is apparently the fastest of all their classic diesels. If you search Youtube you'll find lots of videos of people who have gotten these cars to do amazing things.
The only issues I know of are the clear coat on the hood and top is peeling (see the photos), as is some of the tint on the windows; there are some other imperfections in the paint including a stain on the passenger front quarter panel - it's the original paint so it's 30+ years old; there is some minor surface rust near some of the windows; the stereo does not work; the passenger side front window is sometimes slow and recently stopped about an inch from closed; the AC works but occasionally blows the fuse; the injector o-rings may need to be replaced as there is a slow fuel leak occasionally.

Clean title, car is on Non-Op so no hidden DMV fees due.
