Thinking about buying a 81-85 300sd.

any advice or suggestions-
some of choices--
$8-10k midwest car -- 80-120k miles-- 8+ int/ 8+ ext... gonna need rubber/mounts/bushings/etc.

$5-6K midwest car-- 150-170k miles -- 7 int/8+ ext... also needs rubber/bushings/etc.
owner stores every winter last 25 years and goes to Asia

California 300sd-- will it save me in rust/rubber/etc.??

I want to make it a daily driver... not a DIY guy... but have decent honest repair shops

am I crazy- to think this is a good idea?

Or last option-- buy a 2016 bluetec-- and do a DPF delete...

I love the idea of driving a diesel 300k-400k miles+ and stealing

any year better or worse than the others (81-85)???

I would love any advice or suggestions
