I was overseas for a while recently as well. Had cash as a backup but mostly just left it locked in the safe. Now its back in USD and just sitting around...maybe ill hit up the bank today. The only time I can think of using cash here is for our antiquated regional rail payment system (thankfully getting replaced) if we run over our monthly tickets.
