I would say offer to have it inspected on your money. Most people would be good with that. Probably run around 50-75 bucks. I don't want to discourage you but there are many things to consider on any used car. They are wonderful cars, anbody here will attest to that. But a compression test and a good look underneath may uncover major problems down the road. Or it may just show you little things you'll have to address a few months later. I've seen cars that looked great, but once they were up on a lift the tech pointed out frame damage etc. You just never know.
