The key to applying polish/wax is to put as thin a layer as possible, if it's too thick you'll have problems with streaking.

Read the instructions, most waxes will tell you if it needs drying time or if it can be removed immediately.

I personally use S100 Polish/Wax but Meguiars Gold Class also looks very good on the Pearl Black.

When removing Polish/Wax microfibers make it much easier. Also you might want to try a Quick Detailer after waxing, it will help create a uniform layer of wax and reduce/eliminate streaking.
