The 123s were produced in the highest numbers. Of any cars ever produced by the Mercedes company.
Quantity available tends to have an influence on price. Plus as mentioned four door cars never usually make it to the bigger price points as collector vehicles.
The exception to me is the 240ds with the manual transmissions. No other manufacture ever produced anything quite like that car.
The daughters used to call them tractors as the dogs could identify them as being on the way home well before they where visable. The dogs even indicated to the daughters I was on the way.
We live in a low enough population density area that they are still quite usable here. The main trunk highway is travelling at 75-80 but the low traffic density does not slow up other vehicles. If I am puttering along at 60 miles per hour on it. They can stay with traffic on the secondary highway roads.
