"wurldmedia"
I came across a freeware program called "spybot". The program searchs your computer including the registry looking for tracking cookies, registry entries and the such that cause redirects, tracking, etc, etc. The resulting report will let you remove the registry entries, files, cookies that you dont want in your system. The program is intuitive and simple to use, and allows a restore of anything you change. However, that having been said, exercise some caution and read the tutorial before going click, click, click. Be also advised that some programs will not work if you remove the advertising segments that are firmly imbedded in them. My personal experience has found that "spybot" finds more in your system than "Ad-Aware"; but I use both on a regular basis to cleanse the system registry. Spy bot also has regular updates which include new definitions for "bots" that have been discovered. ( I believe ad aware also updates). The last update for spybot had something like 7800 defined "bots". If you decide to try either of the programs (Ad Aware or Spybot), you will probably be suprised at what they find lurking in your registry. By the way, "wurldmedia" is one of the definitions.
