Now this is the wholesale value, you can probably get more if you sell privately. The first 2 dealer have no clue about some of the well known problems. Frequently I have to bring them the info that I gather from the M-class mailing list to enlighten them. The ball joint is not a failure but rather a wear item and the service booklet mention it specifically.
