when i first started driving diesel cars in 2000, i was traveling between Albuquerque and Philadelphia in my 300 SD..... regular gas and diesel were within 1 cent of each other at around $1/gal. i remember watching the news in 2003 or so when they dumped that $.50/gal road use tax on diesel and were interviewing the truckers about how it would affect them.
i was calling around for heating oil (for my house) just now and the one place usually has cheap fuel prices....they were at $2.49 for on-road diesel (but also were $.42 higher per gallon for heating oil).....i haven't purchased motor fuel in 6 weeks or even been driving around to see what the price of gas is locally
