Bring some 5 minute curing JB Weld Epoxy with you. Typically the shaft pulls out of the plastic ball that is behind the bracket.
However often the Plastic Ball just crumbles away.
The other failure point is the rubber. I will let you figure that one out yourself if that is the issue.
