I would check the brake fluid level if the "BRAKE" light came on. Also a system that has too much air in it would cause that light to come on...have you noticed any problems when applying the brakes?

The brake pad wear sensors are indicating that your pads are worn. Mine usually call themselves to attention at just over 15K miles of use.

Not sure what your previous set of pads were, but the OEM pad material is fairly soft and will probably wear relatively fast on a daily driver...
