That person is lying or incompetent. The spindle is designed to carry the force of the brakes stopping the entire car. You're not going to bend it removing the rusted on rotor with the method outlined in the video. I've used this metod on countless cars and never damaged anything. This is by far the easiest and least damaging way of removing a rusted on rotor.
When you're hammering on the rotor the impact goes through the wheel bearing. Not something you want to **** around with.
