Mercedes w201 Steering Wheel removal

To anyone who may be able to help,

Just recently joined this forum. Been a member of a few other Mercedes forums for a while now. I am currently trying to remove the steering wheel in my 1991 MB 190e, and I am losing my sanity. There are two T30 screws at the back of the steering wheel that hold the airbag in, once removed it pops out exposing the main bolt holding the steering wheel to the column. Problem is, I am unable to get past the T30 screws. I have mutilpe t30 bits, tried screw drivers, ratchets etc no luck. I resorted to buying the genuine mb tool (126 589 00 10 00), still will break loose. The minute I apply pressure and turn counterclockwise, the bit slips. I read the service manual, looked at several forum posts, watched a few YouTube videos of w124 and w126 steering wheel removals, still nothing. Any ideas would appreciated.
